Scraping this niche was a nightmare because most 'where to buy' pages are SEO junk with affiliate links, not actual data. We had to crawl forums, Reddit threads, and vendor comparison sites to find real buyer intent signals. Finally cracked the pattern to extract company names, contact emails, and budget hints. The result is a raw list of businesses actively searching for mailing lists—pure gold for sales.

The tricky part was deduplicating. Same company shows up on multiple forums with different emails. We wrote a fuzzy match algorithm that links them by domain and phone. It's not perfect—about 5% false positives—but we flag those. Also had to filter out freelancers and solo marketers who aren't real leads. You want companies with >10 employees, and we got that via LinkedIn scraping and company size APIs.

We refresh this monthly. Scraping takes 3 days, then we run a cleaning pipeline that removes dead emails and spam traps. The final CSV has about 12,000 rows. Each row includes the source URL and date found, so you can verify freshness. It's not a silver bullet, but if you're selling data services, this is the closest to a warm lead list you'll get without paying a fortune.

Data Schema & Dictionary

Company Name

The legal business name. If it's a DBA, we note that. Sales reps need this to avoid pitching the wrong entity.

Contact Email

The best guess at the decision-maker's email (usually marketing or sales head). We scrape from public sources, so it might be a generic info@. Don't cry about it.

Domain

The company's website domain. Use this to verify they're real and maybe to find more contacts.

Source URL

The exact page where the intent was found. If you want to double-check context, click it. If it's a forum post, you'll see the whole thread.

Date Found

Timestamp when we first saw the signal. Old data is useless, so filter for last 30 days.

Intent Score

A 1-10 score based on how explicit the buying signal was. 10 means they literally asked 'where to buy a mailing list'. 1 means they mentioned it in passing. Use it to prioritize.

Company Size

Rough employee count from LinkedIn or similar. We only include companies with 10+ employees to avoid one-man shops.
