Scraping this niche was a nightmare because most list brokers hide their pricing behind a form or a sales call. We had to build a headless browser that fills out the forms, waits for the email, and then parses the HTML from the follow-up page. Finally cracked the API to extract the raw CSV of every list that is actually for sale, including the ones that say 'call for pricing.'

The biggest challenge was deduplicating the same list sold by multiple brokers at different prices. We wrote a fuzzy match on the list name and description, then kept the cheapest version. That's why you'll see a 'price_min' field that might be lower than the broker's site if they have a discount code. We also track the source URL so you can verify the price yourself before buying.

We also scraped the broker's terms of service and the list's 'source' field (e.g., B2B, B2C, opt-in, co-reg). That's important because buying a list that is not opt-in can get you blacklisted by ESPs. We had to parse the fine print from legal pages and PDFs, which was a pain. The result is a 'compliance_risk' field that rates each list as LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH based on the source and age.

Data Schema & Dictionary

List Name

The name of the mailing list as advertised by the broker. This is what you see on the landing page or in their catalog. It's usually something like 'US Business Executives' or 'Opt-in Email Addresses.' You care because it tells you the target audience at a glance.

Broker Name

The name of the company selling the list. We aggregate from 50+ brokers. You care because some brokers are reputable, some are sketchy. You can Google the broker to check reviews before you buy.

Price per 1000 Records

The cost per thousand records (CPM) that the broker charges. This is the standard pricing metric in the list industry. You care because it lets you compare lists apples-to-apples, and we've normalized it to USD per 1000.

Minimum Order Quantity

The smallest number of records you can buy from this list. Some brokers force you to buy 5,000 minimum, others 500. You care because if you're a small business, you don't want to drop $500 on a list you only need 100 records from.

List Source

How the contacts were collected: opt-in, co-registration, compiled, or inferred. This is critical. Opt-in is generally safe, compiled means they scraped from public sources (riskier), and inferred is guesstimated. You care because it determines your legal exposure and email deliverability.

Compliance Risk

Our internal rating (LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH) based on the list source, age, and whether the broker includes a suppression file. You care because buying a HIGH risk list can get your sender domain blacklisted, and that's a pain to recover from.

Last Verified Date

The date we last confirmed this list is still for sale and the price hasn't changed. Brokers update their inventory frequently. You care because a list that was live last month might be dead now, and you don't want to waste a credit on a stale list.

Broker URL

The direct link to the list's landing page on the broker's site. You care because you can click through to see more details, or check if the broker has any additional terms. It also lets you verify the price if you don't trust us.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fresh is this data?
We scrape the brokers every Monday. If a list disappears or a price changes, we update within 24 hours. If you buy a list and it bounces like crazy, let us know and we'll swap the credit for another list. That's it.
Can I get a sample before buying?
No. We don't provide samples because we're not selling the lists, we're selling the directory of lists. You can see the list name, source, and price, but the actual records are only available from the broker. If you want to test a list, buy a small quantity from the broker directly.
Is it legal to buy a mailing list?
Depends on where you are and what you do with it. In the US, CAN-SPAM doesn't require opt-in for B2B, but it does for B2C. In the EU, GDPR is brutal—you need explicit consent. Our data includes a compliance risk rating, but it's your job to follow the law. Don't blame us if you get sued.
How do you get the data?
We scrape public pages and parse the HTML. We don't hack or bypass paywalls. If a broker has a 'call for pricing,' we fill out the form and wait for the email, then scrape the link. It's tedious but legal. We also track the source URL so you can verify.
