Scraping resort contact lists is a slog. Their sites are mostly fancy WordPress themes with contact forms instead of emails, and the ones that do list emails bury them in PDFs or behind JS modals. We ended up building a hybrid scraper: one pass for the HTML, another for the embedded JSON-LD structured data. That got us a solid 80% coverage. The rest came from cross-referencing booking engines and chamber of commerce directories. It's not perfect, but it's the most complete list you'll find without paying a fortune for a data broker.

The tricky part was deduplication. Resorts often appear under multiple names (e.g., 'The Grand Resort' vs 'Grand Resort & Spa') and have multiple addresses (mailing vs physical). We wrote a fuzzy match script that normalizes names and picks the canonical physical address. We also had to handle resorts that share a management company—some emails are generic like info@resortgroup.com. We kept those but flagged them as 'generic' in the data. It's not perfect, but you'll know what you're getting.

We refresh this quarterly. The hospitality industry is volatile—resorts close, merge, or rebrand constantly. Our crawler runs every night, flags changes, and we manually verify the big ones. The last update caught 3,000 new resorts and removed 800 dead ones. If you need fresher data, we've got an API for that, but for the CSV, quarterly is the sweet spot between cost and accuracy.

Data Schema & Dictionary

resort_name

The official commercial name of the resort. We've cleaned it up (removed all caps, fixed typos). If it's part of a chain, we usually keep the brand name. This is the primary key you'll match against.

physical_address

Street address of the resort property. Not the mailing address, not the PO box. If we couldn't verify the physical location, we left it blank rather than guess. You'll want this for targeting or lead enrichment.

city

City where the resort is located. Straight from the address. We didn't standardize abbreviations—so it's 'St. Pete' not 'Saint Petersburg'. Do your own normalization.

state_province

State or province code (e.g., CA, BC). For non-US/CA, we use ISO codes. If it's a country with no states, this is empty.

postal_code

Zip or postal code. We kept them as strings because leading zeros matter. No spaces, standard format for the country.

country_code

ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code (e.g., US, MX, FR). This is your best bet for filtering. We've got 62 countries covered.

phone

Primary phone number. We stripped out all formatting—just digits, with country code prefixed if the resort is outside North America. If there's no public phone, it's blank. Expect some to be outdated; we didn't call them all.

email

The best public email we could find. Often the general info address. We flagged generic ones (info@, reservations@) in the 'email_type' column. We didn't do email verification—that's on you.

email_type

Either 'generic' or 'direct'. Generic means it's a catch-all like info@. Direct means we found a specific person's email (e.g., sales@ or manager@). Direct is rare—only about 15% of the list.

website

The resort's official website URL. We removed tracking params and forced HTTPS. If the site is down, it's blank. Simple.

star_rating

The star rating as listed on the resort's own site or a major booking platform. It's a float (e.g., 4.5). If we couldn't find one, it's 0.0. Don't trust it as gospel—hotels inflate these.

number_of_rooms

Total number of guest rooms. We got this from public data or the resort's site. It's approximate—some resorts have villas and suites that aren't counted. Useful for segmenting by size.

year_established

The year the resort was founded or opened. If unknown, it's 0. This is a good proxy for how established they are.

last_updated

The date we last verified this record. Format: YYYY-MM-DD. If it's older than 6 months, be skeptical.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fresh is this data?
We push an update every quarter. The file you download has a generation date on it. If you need something fresher, you're better off with our API—that's live. But for a CSV, quarterly is what you get. And if you find a bounce or a wrong number, tell us and we'll swap the credit. No drama.
Why are some emails missing or generic?
Because resorts are paranoid about spam and hide their emails behind forms. We scrape what's publicly available. If all we found was info@, that's what you get. Direct emails are gold—only 15% of the list has them. If you absolutely need direct contacts, consider our enrichment service. But don't complain to us about missing emails—it's the nature of the beast.
Can I filter by country or region?
Yes, there's a country_code column and a state_province column. You can filter in Excel or any tool. We've got 62 countries covered, but the US and Mexico dominate. If you need a specific region, just use the filters. It's a CSV—you can do whatever you want with it.
What's your refund policy if the data is bad?
We're not in the business of selling you crap. If you download the file and find the data is stale or inaccurate, email us within 30 days and we'll either give you a fresh pull or refund you. We don't do partial refunds—it's either good or it isn't. Don't try to game the system though; we check logs.
