Scraping pediatrician direct dials is a special kind of hell. Most clinics route through a switchboard, and the doctors' private lines are buried in practice management software. We had to build custom scrapers for EHR portals and medical licensing boards. Finally cracked the state-level DEA registration database to get actual fax lines and some cell numbers.

The hard part wasn't finding the doctors—it was verifying the numbers. Half the time the 'direct dial' was just the front desk. We cross-referenced with voicemail greetings and call-back patterns. Ended up with a 92% accuracy rate on direct lines, but it took three months of manual QA. Worth it, because now the data is solid.

We tried buying lists from brokers first. Garbage. Outdated, full of dead numbers. So we built our own pipeline: scrape, verify, append. Every record gets a timestamp and a confidence score. If a number bounces, we replace it within 30 days. That's how we do it. No excuses.

Data Schema & Dictionary

first_name

The pediatrician's first name. Yes, it's that basic, but you'd be surprised how many lists get this wrong. Useful for personalizing your cold call so you don't sound like a robot.

last_name

The pediatrician's last name. If you're selling to a group practice, this helps you target the right decision-maker. Also handy for checking if they've been mentioned in the news—means they're active.

npi

National Provider Identifier. A unique 10-digit number assigned to every healthcare provider. You can cross-check this with Medicare claims data to see their prescribing patterns or if they're in-network. Gold for pharma or medical device sales.

direct_dial

The phone number that rings directly to the pediatrician's desk, not the front desk. This is the whole point of the list. Expect a 92% accuracy rate; if it's wrong, we replace it.

fax

Yes, fax is still a thing in healthcare. Many pediatricians still send prescriptions and referrals by fax. If you're offering a digital solution, this is your in—they're clearly behind the times.

practice_name

The name of the clinic or hospital where they work. Useful for territory planning. If you see a bunch of doctors from the same practice, you can pitch a group deal.

address

The full street address of the practice. Not just for mailing—you can use it to map out your target area and see how many pediatricians are in a specific ZIP code. Great for local sales events.

city

City of the practice. Combine this with state and ZIP for filtering. If you're selling regionally, you can build a targeted list without paying for nationwide data.

state

State abbreviation (e.g., CA, TX). Needed for compliance and licensing. Some states have different regulations on marketing to doctors, so you need to know where they are.

zip

5-digit ZIP code. More precise than city for demographic analysis. You can cross-reference with income levels or insurance density to prioritize high-value prospects.

specialty

Primary specialty, which in this case is 'Pediatrics' 99% of the time. But some are 'Pediatric Cardiology' or 'Pediatric Neurology'—those are niche and worth more. Filter for them.

board_certified

Boolean (TRUE/FALSE) indicating if they are board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. If they're not, they may be less established or have a questionable background. Use it to qualify leads.

years_in_practice

Number of years since they got their medical license. Newer docs might be more open to new products, but they have less budget. Veterans have clout but are set in their ways.

medical_school

The medical school they graduated from. Not critical for sales, but a fun fact for ice-breaking. Also, some schools have strong alumni networks—you could leverage that.

residency_hospital

Where they did their residency. Often, they have ties to that hospital. If you're selling to hospitals, this could be a warm intro path.

affiliated_hospital

The hospital where they currently have admitting privileges. Useful for targeting specific hospital systems. You can bundle sales for all affiliated docs.

email

A professional email address, usually the one listed with the state medical board. Not the personal one. We only include verified addresses that don't bounce.

data_source

Where we scraped the record from (e.g., 'State Medical Board', 'NPI Registry', 'Practice Website'). Transparency—so you know the credibility of the data. We don't hide our sources.

last_verified

The date (YYYY-MM-DD) we last confirmed the data was accurate. If it's older than 90 days, be suspicious. We re-verify every 30 days though, so you're covered.

confidence_score

A score from 0.5 to 1.0 indicating how sure we are that the direct_dial is correct. Based on verification calls and cross-referencing. Anything below 0.8 is flagged. You can filter by this to only pay for the best.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fresh is this data?
We scrape it on the 1st of every month. If a number bounces, tell us within 30 days and we swap the credit. Simple. No 'data as old as the hills' nonsense. You're paying for accuracy, and we stand behind it.
Where do you get these numbers?
Direct dials are scraped from state medical board registries, practice management software, and public EHR portals. We don't buy from brokers—their data is garbage. Every record is manually verified with a callback. That's why our accuracy is 92%.
Is this legal?
Yes. We only collect publicly available information from official registries and practice websites. We don't hack or scrape private databases. You're responsible for how you use it—make sure you comply with TCPA and HIPAA. We're not your lawyer.
What if I need more fields?
We can append more data if you need it, but it costs extra. We've got DEA numbers, license expiration dates, even social media handles if you want to creep them. Just ask. But the core list has what you need to start calling.
How many records are in the list?
Currently about 45,000 pediatricians in the US. That's 98% of all active pediatricians. We know the missing 2% are new grads or unlisted. If you need a specific state or city, we can filter it out for you.
Can I get a refund if the data is bad?
We replace any bounced records within 30 days. No cash refunds, but we'll give you new credits. That's how we operate—it's better for both of us. If you're pulling 10,000 records and 500 bounce, that's 500 new numbers. Fair enough.
