Scraping credit unions is a pain because their websites are all over the place. Some have robust member directories, others hide behind login walls. We had to build custom parsers for each state's credit union league site and then cross-reference NCUA data. Finally cracked it by extracting the email addresses from their public 'Contact Us' pages and board member listings. Not perfect, but it's a solid foundation.

The hardest part was deduplicating and verifying emails. Credit unions often have generic info@ addresses, but we also got direct contacts for CEOs and marketing heads. We ran every email through a syntax check and a domain validation. About 12% bounced initially, so we scrubbed those and now we're at a 95% deliverability rate. It's not 100%, but for cold outreach, that's decent.

We also included the physical address and phone number for each credit union. Why? Because if you're selling services, you want to mail something or call them. The data is scraped from the official NCUA registry, so the names and addresses are accurate as of the last update. We refresh the list every quarter to keep it current. It's raw, it's dirty, but it's real.
