Scraping aged solar leads is like digging through a landfill. Most providers sell recycled garbage from 2018. We built a pipeline that pulls from utility interconnection records, state incentive databases, and expired installer contracts. Took 6 months to clean the dedupe logic. The result? 500k records with verified install dates, system sizes, and homeowner contact info. No fake emails. No spam traps. Just tired homeowners who got pitched too hard and ghosted.

The real trick was cross-referencing county permit data with actual solar installs. Turns out 40% of 'solar leads' are people who got a quote but never signed. We filter those out. Our dataset only includes people with an expired or cancelled solar contract, meaning they wanted solar but didn't pull the trigger. That's the sweet spot for re-engagement. We also tag the reason code from the installer's CRM if we can get it. Price, financing, or just cold feet.

We refresh the data quarterly because these leads decay fast. But we also append new signals: credit score ranges, home value estimates, and roof condition from satellite imagery. That's extra. The core CSV is raw, ugly, and real. You'll get 2019-2023 records with a timestamp of when the lead went cold. If you want a 95% deliverability guarantee, you pay extra and we scrub against the Do Not Call list. Otherwise, deal with it.

Data Schema & Dictionary

homeowner_name

Full name of the property owner. Straight from county records. If it's 'John Doe' or 'Unknown', we drop it. Sales reps need a name to address the pitch, not a blank line.

property_address

Street address of the home. Includes city, state, and zip. It's the physical location where the solar would go. If you're doing direct mail, this is the target.

phone_number

Primary contact number. Landline or mobile, we don't know. It's the number from the original installer's CRM. If it's a disconnected line, we mark it in 'phone_status'.

email_address

Email from the lead form or the installer's records. We don't verify these unless you buy the 'verified' add-on. Expect a 10-20% bounce rate if you're lazy.

install_status

One word: 'Expired' or 'Cancelled'. This is the core of the lead. Expired means the quote lapsed. Cancelled means they signed then backed out. Both are hot, but cancelled is hotter.

original_quote_date

The date the solar quote was given. ISO format. This tells you how stale the lead is. If it's older than 2 years, you're scraping the bottom of the barrel. Still might work if the price is right.

system_size_kw

The proposed system size in kilowatts. Usually between 3 and 15 kW. This helps you tailor the pitch. A 10 kW quote means the homeowner has a big roof and high bills. Or they wanted to be fancy.

quote_amount_usd

The dollar amount of the original solar quote. Pre-incentive. This is gold for pricing your own offer. If the quote was $30k and you come in at $25k, you've got a conversation.

credit_score_band

A band like '600-649' or '700-749'. We pull this from a third-party data provider. It's not perfect, but it gives you a rough idea of financing options. Don't rely on it exclusively.

roof_age_years

Approximate age of the roof from public records. Older roofs mean the solar install will be more expensive because they might need a reroof. This is a negative signal, but you can use it to preempt objections.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fresh is this data?
We scrape it on the 1st of the month. If it bounces, tell us and we swap the credit. Simple. But honestly, these are aged leads. They're not hot. You're buying them because you want a cheap list to call, not because they're ready to sign today.
Do you scrub against the Do Not Call list?
Only if you pay for the 'compliant' add-on. Otherwise, you're responsible for that. We provide the raw data, you make the calls. If you're going to robocall, that's on you. We don't want a lawsuit.
Can I get a sample before buying?
Yeah, we'll give you 100 records for free. But they're the worst ones. If you like those, the full list is even better. We're not in the business of giving away the good stuff for free.
What's the deliverability rate of the emails?
Out of the box, expect 85-90%. If you want 95%+, buy the email verification add-on. It costs extra because we have to run every address through a validation service. We're not cutting corners unless you pay us not to.
How do you get the lead source?
We buy expired contracts from solar installers who went out of business. Also, we scrape public utility interconnection lists. It's a mix. The source is in the 'lead_source' column. You can filter by it if you care.
